This Month:

Join us for this free presentation and book signing by local author and historian, Margaret LaPlante. Margaret will be speaking about her newest book, "On to Oregon: The Story of Seventy Pioneer Families Who Settled in the Rogue Valley". LaPlante is the author of "The DeAutremont Brothers: America's Last Great Train Robbery" and frequent contributor to many fascinating "As It Was" radio programs.

LaPlante explains that "Whether they came by sea or across the plains it was a long, difficult journey to reach Oregon. Some came for the gold, some for the land but they all came in search of a better life." LaPlante's book tells the stories of seventy pioneer families who made their home in the Rogue Valley. With large photos of pioneer scenes and detailed accounts of individual pioneer families, this is a great book for anyone interested in Rogue Valley History.
