This Week's Film:
(India, 2005, subtitled) follows the story of a widowed child bride (7 years old!). Religious doctrine dictates that she now retire to an ashram to atone for the sins that caused her husband's untimely death. As she bides her time among widows both young an old -- some accepting of their fate and some bitterly resentful -- the preadolescent widow's spirit remains unbroken and hopeful for a brighter future.

Please note: The actual title of these films is not permitted on our website per our Licensing Agreement. Sorry! However; the titles are included in RVML's Weekly Event Announcement e-Mails (see below for link).

The Staff & Volunteers of RVML Present:

"Light!"- A Tribute to the Miracle of Electric Lighting

Opens First Friday, December 4, 5:00-8:00 pm
Exhibit Runs December 5-31, 10-6 Daily

Exhibit Description:

2009 marks the 200-year anniversary of the discovery of Electric Light. It took another hundred years for inventors to perfect the familiar metal and glass bulbs which have transformed the world during the last century. Consider how this ingenious and simple device has served so many billions of people like few other inventions have!

Now, as more energy-efficient methods of creating artificial sunlight from electricity are introduced, these ubiquitous and ingenious inventions are becoming forgotten treasures as they rapidly slip into quaint obscurity.

During the month of December, visit RVML and experience a bright and colorful exhibit of unusual selections from the light bulb collection of RVML's Director Jordan Pease.

Come and enjoy a unique opportunity to celebrate these indispensable and delightful wonders we ordinarily overlook.

Free Lecture: Natural vs. Artificial Immunity
By Jim Jordan, CNC, JD

Free Admission

Presentation Description:

What is the immune system and what is it's role in protecting you from disease and illness?

Did you know your immune system is more than just white blood cells and T-Cells? The immune system actually includes your entire body and mind working in harmony to keep the body alive and healthy.

Immunity starts with the capacity to discern between what is harmful and what is beneficial to your health

At this time of year many of us are concerned about infectious disease - flus, colds, new strains of virus's Yet the allopathic medical profession and government say all we can do is wash our hands frequently, avoid people coughing on you and get vaccinated.

Is there a way to strengthen our natural immunity with diet and lifestyle that can protect us from or reduce the severity of colds and flu virus's?

In this presentation I will cover:

-Why we get sick with colds and flus more often in the winter and what we can do about it.

-How your brain and digestive system effect the function of your immune system including the role of bacteria in helping your immune system work efficiently.

-The role of diet and nutrition in keeping your immune system strong including which foods and herbs provide the most support for your immune system and why .

-Toxicity and immunity including the effect of toxic metals and chemicals on your immune system.

-The role of the lymphatic system in keeping you healthy and protecting you from illness.

-Electromagnetic radiation and it's effect on immune function.
What is the difference between natural immunity and artificial immunity achieved by vaccinations.

-How do vaccines work and do vaccines provide adequate protection against the pathogen they are immunizing against?

-Overview of the latest research on exercise, Vitamin D and stress on immunity.

Free Lecture: The Biology of Cancer and other Diseases
By Christine Kleiman

Presentation Description:

What if cancer, and many other diseases, would vanish without treatment ? Find out the reality behind the biology of diseases, their likely causes and why and how they could heal without interference of any kind. Scientists concerned with cell biology, epigenetics and even quantum physics, have found incredible evidence that our thoughts and emotions have a very real, measurable effect on our physical reality, including our physical health.

For the last 30 years Dr. Ryke Hamer, a German medical doctor and oncologist, has provided us with a complete scientific system that is based on the biological laws of evolution and nature. It explains in detail which emotional conflicts are linked to which diseases, including cancer, is able to predict the development, and, above all, explains the natural healing processes of those diseases.

Presenter's Biography:

Christine Kleiman, B.S.Natural Health, Certified Wellness Coach, GNM Practitioner and BodyAccess Therapist, has studied Natural Health for as long as she can remember, being raised by a mother who was a healer herself. But even though she has a comprehensive knowledge and a strong belief in natural healing methods and modalities, she always wondered about the 'why' of the disease. Her observations, and her intuition, have led her to the conclusion that there was a direct link between the patient's emotional state and the physical symptoms that person experienced. Having been introduced to German New Medicine a few years ago, has finally provided her with the logical and reproducable science that is at the basis of this true mind/body medicine. She has a Holistic Health Consultant practice in Ashland, Oregon.
