Series Description:

Join facilitator Marla Estes to watch and discuss the concepts of love, psychology, sociology and culture in these great films. All ages welcome!

Tonight's film:

American culture tends to think of arranged marriages as negative, but is it? In this bi-cultural film (Indian-American), we will get a chance to see if growing into deep love is really so much different whether it's our parents that choose our mates or our unconscious that chooses them.

Facilitator's Biography:

Marla Estes, MA lives in Ashland and is a workshop leader, teacher, writer, and mentor. Having a Masters degree in Transpersonal Studies, she has taught at SOU Extension, the SAEJ program at Ashland High School, and has led women's study groups. Several of her articles have been published in the Sentient Times and Alternatives Magazine.

Presentation Description:

As we all know, the circumstances of the 2008 presidential election are unique and the results will be historically significant. The choices on the ballot are remarkable, and the planetary configurations on that day are particularly vivid. Astrology offers us an unsurpassed way to put the events surrounding this groundbreaking election into a larger context, both in terms of the larger cycles of history and in understanding something of the personalities and characters of the key players.

Please join us as a panel of local astrologers consider the astrological phenomena of this election.

We know the times are interesting and challenging. This promises to be a lively evening and we warmly invite one and all to join us.
