Lecture & Discussion: Conversations about Love
With Marla Estes, MA

$5.00 to $10.00 suggested donation, everyone welcome.

Presentation Description:

The Paradox of Relationship: "I alone must become myself; I cannot become myself alone." -Pittman Mcgeehee

Please join us to discuss the mysteries of relationships, weaving in psychological, Jungian, and sociological concepts. Our discussion will focus on relationships as a process instead of as a goal. Through this examination, we have the opportunity to bring more clarity, understanding and awareness to both our conscious and unconscious ideas of love with the possibility of making room for new ones to come forth.

Focus for June Meetings:

Pittman McGehee, a Jungian analyst, has recorded a series of four classes he has taught on "The Psychology of Love." We will be listening to and discussing these over four sessions in June, as follows:

-June 2 General Overview: Eros and Agape
-June 9 Mother Love
-June 16 Father Love
-June 23 The Romantic Other

Although each session can stand alone, they do build on each other. In Dr. McGehee's words, Eros is the love that yearns and wants something and Agape is the love that lets be, that allows and encourages the Other to be all that he or she can be. And within Eros, he says, lie the seeds of Agape. Eros, Agape, Mother, Father and Romantic Other are all interrelated. The ways in which he articulates and weaves these ideas together are simple, concise, easy to understand, and deep at the same time.

Facilitators' Biography:

Dominic Allamano is a passionate and potent voice of the emerging visionary generation, inspiring others to shine their light brightly by boldly and humbly shining his. Since his late teens, when he began to see clearly following life altering physical trauma, he has focused his energies in two interrelated realms. The first is the realms of experiential education and explorations of the embodiment of consciousness, while the second is in a deep exploration of the sociological and systemic elements of the dominant world culture. The merging of these two realms has allowed him to perceive many of the key patterns and dynamics that define today's world and hold the promise for tomorrow's.

He feels called to be as a midwife to the emerging culture, assisting both in its birth and development as well as in the navigation of the unforeseen consequences of humanity's past choices, which are defining the context for that emergence. Through extensive travels and speaking around the Pacific Northwest he has aligned with an inspired network of allies with whom he is crafting new paradigm networks and tools like the WorldCrafter's Network (http://www.worldcrafters.org) and CultureSeed (http://www.cultureseed.org) to support the emergence of this new culture.

Lecture: Creating a Transition Initiative from Oil Dependency to Local Resilience- Unleashing the Genius of Our Own Community
By Shaktari Belew, MSc

Rob Hopkins founded the Transition Initiatives Movement in the UK to explore and co-create a framework for developing resilience as we face the triple challenges of diminishing inexpensive petroleum, climate change, and exponential population growth. He writes, "Resilience refers to the ability of a system, from individual people to whole economies, to hold together and maintain their ability to function in the face of change and shocks from the outside."

What does resilience look like? It is unique to each bioregion, but he describes the Hunza society of the early1990's as an example. At that time, their society lived within its sustainable limits while developing highly creative responses to their local needs. Citizens experienced an abundant lifestyle with time to socialize and play even as everyone's needs were met. Hopkins realized that, unlike his own community, the Hunza community could most likely weather any adversity that came its way. What Hopkins is describing here could be termed "thrivability," a next step beyond mere sustainability.

This talk is an overview of Hopkins's Transition Initiative as well as other ideas people are implementing around the world as they localize their systems and develop greater resilience. Join us as we visualize a more resilient Rogue Valley together.

Presenter's Biography:

Exec. Director of the Thrivability Institute and the Honoring All Life Foundation. Shaktari has studied Developmental Psychology, Kinesiology, Fine Art, Communication, and Art History. She holds an MSc degree in Organizing Learning for EcoSocial Regeneration from Gaia University, where she offers her skills as a Process Advisor and Internal Reviewer. She is fascinated with HOW we perceive and the subsequent choices we make that determine our sense of reality.

Her book on the subject, exploring potent perceptual filters that offer new possibilities, Honoring All Life - A Practical Guide to Exploring a New Reality, was published in 2005. Her workshop, DEEP PERCEPTION, has been offered in the USA and Europe, and provides an in-depth exploration of personal perceptual filters and new ways of perceiving the possible. Locally, she is leading the effort to create a Gaia University regional center in Ashland, Oregon. Her greatest passion is to empower herself and others to experience their own core magnificence - and thus that of all life.

Building on the astonishing success of The Power of Now, Eckhart Tolle presents readers with an honest look at the current state of humanity: He implores us to see and accept that this state, which is based on an erroneous identification with the egoic mind, is one of dangerous insanity.

Tolle tells us there is good news, however. There is an alternative to this potentially dire situation. Humanity now, perhaps more than in any previous time, has an opportunity to create a new, saner, more loving world. This will involve a radical inner leap from the current egoic consciousness to an entirely new one.

In illuminating the nature of this shift in consciousness, Tolle describes in detail how our current ego-based state of consciousness operates. Then gently, and in very practical terms, he leads us into this new consciousness. We will come to experience who we truly are-which is something infinitely greater than anything we currently think we are-and learn to live and breathe freely.

Workshop: The Inner Smile- Alchemical Approach to Healing, Creativity and Change
With Alexander Alexis

$5.00 - 20.00 Suggested donation, everyone welcome

Presentation Description:

Join visionary Alexander Alexis for this fun experience and learn how you can co-operate with the lifeforce to experience changes, have healing and create the way nature does - in joy, spontaneously, out of nothing.

Everything new is conceived in an inner space of openness. In this "space" normal, linear thinking limited by preoccupation with the past, the future, and circumstances is suspended. We align with God/Source energy and enter the visionary mind characterized by playful, holistic, possibility thinking. The Inner Smile Alchemical Approach, drawn from ancient Daoist practices, is the natural conduit to the Source. With it we create the same way the Universe does when it forms new stars and galaxies out of nothing. Healing, creativity and change occur spontaneously, beautifully and without effort when we allow the lifeforce to do the work for us.

Come and learn how to:

-Develop trust in yourself and the process of life
-Release fear and resistance, and focus on your excitement instead
-Greatly reduce stress damage, cultivate deep relaxation and have more balanced energy
-Greatly accelerate the healing process, and health and well-being in general
-Greatly enhance fun, creativity, sense of self-worth and your connection with all things
-Allow your heart-felt dreams to be manifested

Lecture: Take Back Your Motherland, People!
With Rolando Ambrosio Poe

Suggested Donation: $10.00 everyone welcome, no one turned away.

Presentation Description:

A vivid presentation on creating a space of love and reclaiming our Pristine Origins Shambhala - Shasta Community (An Anastasia Eco-Settlement Project in America) and Shambhala Ecovillage (Our Motherland First Home)

Shambhala Ecovillage is now situated on 466-acres of pristine Motherland. This is only the first phase of our ecovillage creation, design, development and establishment. Following will be a presentation on the five means of energy exchange and valuation in our Community Energy Bank - the future template of economic exchange that frees our bondage to the programmed attachment to and machinations of the fiat currency called the US dollar. The presentation includes a dissertation on the units of exchange called Hour/Our/Your cards and minted precious metals - our own internal currency. Come join us and find out how to become either a Settler or a Friend and Supporter of our Community Vision.

"The whole Earth could be a Motherland for each one of its inhabitants, and Man could be caressed by everything in the Universe, but for that to happen, he would need to join together all planes of being into a single point, call it his Motherland, and create with his own self a Space of Love therein. Then all the best things of the Universe would come into contact with it firsthand - come into contact with the Space of your Motherland. You in yourself will feel the whole vast Universe through this point, and possess power unsurpassed. They will know about this on other worlds. Everything will serve you, as God, our Creator, wanted it." -Anastasia

Presenter's Biographies:

Rolando Ambrosio Poe is the director of the Living Oneness Foundation, project director of the Shambhala-Shasta Community, and project manager of the Shambhala Ecovillage.

Lecture: Reawakening the Sacred Masculine- "As the Sacred Feminine has been Suppressed, so too has the Sacred Masculine"
By Karen Kiester

$5.00 - 20.00 Suggested donation, everyone welcome

Presentation Description:

Come explore the possibilities of reawakening the Sacred Masculine within. This topic is relevant to both men and women. As we have asked men to connect to their feminine side, we now ask women to connect to their masculine side; as women are embracing their Sacred Feminine, we invite men to embrace their Sacred Masculine. This reawakening invites you to open to discover what the Sacred Masculine can be and what that means to you.

Based on nine archetypes and the persona of Josef, the Earthly Father of the Christ (yes, the Josef and Mary, Josef), aspects of the Sacred Masculine are provided that assist you in making a connection with the Sacred Masculine within yourself. As you receive these 'seeds' to plant, allow them to reveal your personal Sacred Masculine aspects to you and bring forth this innate wisdom that has lain dormant within you for so long.

As a child, Karen Kiester was fascinated by Josef, the Earthly Father of the Christ, who she believes is the definitive representation of the Sacred Masculine. She wondered who this man was and about his experiences in raising the Christ Child to manhood. This fascination lay dormant for many years and was reawakened after a healing prayer service in early 2006. Since that time, in meditation, she has been given insights to ponder and now shares those contemplations with others.

Presenter's Biography:

Karen Kiester is a recovering corporate computer programmer/analyst with an emphasis in data modeling and analysis. She has become a wiz at QuickBooks and Excel. Using her right brain, she is also a certified Natural Vision Improvement Instructor as well as a Reiki Master Teacher, Bach Flower Essence Practioner. She is currently studying Human Design and giving readings. She currently works individually with clients in person or by telephone.

Video & Discussion: "A New Earth, Awakening to your Life's Purpose"
With Eckhart Tolle and Oprah Winfrey
Facilitated by Rev. Ruth Kirby

Free admission, donations appreciated

Description:

This spring, Oprah Winfrey broke new technological ground and hosted a free 10 week live web class online with Eckhart Tolle on his book, "A New Earth". Each class is 90 minutes long and includes people from all over the world calling in with questions. Continue through the summer to practice being present and awaken to life's purpose with the inspiration of these incredible classes.

The classes will be shown on 10 Wednesday nights starting June 11th from 7:00-8:30pm in the library, with an optional hour afterwards to clarify and discuss the practice of the ideas presented. These showings will be hosted by Rev. Ruth Kirby, Spiritual Director of The Living Truth Center.

Oprah and Eckhart's class attracted the attention of millions of people around the world. Come and witness the incredible seeds of New Thought/Ancient Wisdom that they have planted in mass consciousness.

Book Description:

Facilitator's Biography:

Rev. Ruth Kirby is the founder of the Living Truth Center, a Science of Mind center. Rev. Ruth has been involved with the Science of Mind philosophy and other New Thought teachings for 18 years. She founded Living Truth Center in 2004 and has been serving there as Minister and Spiritual Director. Rev. Ruth is also active in the Rogue Valley Interfaith Ministries group that meets monthly in Ashland and coordinates two interfaith services a year, one on Thanksgiving and one on Earth Day weekend.
