Presentation Description:

This is a presentation by the President of The New Energy Movement (NEM), a grassroots nonprofit organization dedicated to facilitating the advent of a global economy and sustainable civilization based on advanced clean energy technologies.
Joel Garbon and a team of dedicated colleagues have examined the historic obstacles that have blocked the introduction of breakthrough clean energy technologies to the public domain. One potential approach for new energy inventors is the open sourcing of their technologies to short circuit the typical obstructions that have plagued this field. Joel presents a compelling analysis of the rationale behind open sourcing and challenges the audience to consider whether this approach provides the secret to launching humanity into the new energy era.

Garbon, with input from seasoned veterans of the new energy field, has quietly authored an historic piece of draft legislation calling for serious and urgent federal support for the research and development of advanced clean energy technologies. If successfully implemented, a whole new era becomes possible for not just the United States, but humanity at large. We can envision the possibilities of a world of abundance and peace for all peoples, a vibrant and healthy global ecosystem, a planet restored to balance and harmony. We have the opportunity to put our pressing global problems. including global warming, environmental degradation, resource wars, and poverty in the rearview mirror.

The proposed legislation, first introduced to members of Congress in early 2007, provides the blueprint. Would our nation's citizens be willing to invest less than $8 per person per year to launch the new energy renaissance?

Come take an inside look at the promise of new energy technology and how you can help usher in a new energy revolution!
