Presentation Description:

Modern physics affirms what mystics have long stated; "All is Vibration," or as Heraclitus said in the 5th century B.C., "All is flow. All is in flux." Yet within this pulsating universe we find certain basic forms manifesting repeatedly in a vast array of sizes, states and substances.

From crystals to crop circles, sunflowers to the structure of galaxies, these fundamental patterns are found throughout nature, and are reflected in the arts through specific, inherently pleasing, proportions and designs. Though we don't think of these apparently static forms as "vibrational patterns," they are actually the product of similar harmonic relationships as those which comprise the overtone series in acoustics, and the dynamics of growth defined by the Phi ratio (the Golden Section) in mathematics.

The science of Cymatics (wave phenomena) vividly demonstrates how these harmonic patterns arise within water and other inert substances as they are "animated" by specific audible frequencies. We will witness the creative and transformative power of sound through videotapes of these amazing experiments, and we'll further explore the fundamental principles which underlie these forms, and all of creation!

Far from being a dry mental discourse on the mechanics of the cosmos, this will be an imaginative romp -- integrating music, poetry, and mystical insights from the sages of the ages, with the magic of quantum physics -- to examine just how these same principles play out in our daily lives. The dance of chaos and reintegration not only animates our world at the subatomic level, but it generates the very circumstances of our personal experience.

"In the beginning was the Word." Come see for yourself, and explore the dynamics of how we create our own personal Universe!

NOTE: Familiarity with Cymatics and sacred geometry is helpful, but not essential. Jeff will be bringing an eclectic selection of books and videos on these topics, or visit our website, www.cymaticsource.com.

Jeff Volk is a poet, video artist and publisher. He produced the video Of Sound Mind and Body: Music and Vibrational Healing, winner of the Hartley Film Award through the Institute of Noetic Sciences, and the International Sound Colloquium, an annual conference exploring the power of sacred sound and healing music. He recently re-published Dr. Hans Jenny's books Cymatics, Vol. I & II. Jenny's cymatic images are used by Gregg Braden, Jonathan Goldman, Tom Kenyon and many others because they scientifically demonstrate how audible sound creates harmonic, geometric patterns found in mandalas and crop circles.
