Presenter's Biography:

"Born in Fresno California, David Moyer graduated with honors from Fresno High School and Westmont College in Santa Barbara. He attended the University of Washington School of Social Work in 1969. Upon graduating, after being almost drafted into the Army he obtained a direct commision into the Air Force where he served as a clinical social worker for 28 years, serving in Germany, the Philippines and at selected bases in the United States. He primarily worked as a clinician and adminstrator in mental health care settings, providing services in inpatient and outpatient settings to clients suffering from mental illness, drug and alchol addiction, and victims and perpetrators of family violence. He retired a Lt Col in 1999 from Beale Air Force Base California near Lake Wildwood where he currently resides with his wife and family.

Moyer brings a unique perspective to mental health and addiction issues, having worked within the profession and having seen the results of mainstream care on his own family members. His book is not only a poignant story of four generations affected by bipolar disorder but also a medical detective story offering hope to those with CNS disorders and their families.

Moyer has published in Computers in Human Services and currently has two articles pending publication in the Townsend Letter for Doctors and Patients and the Lyme Times." He is the founder and CEO of Nu-Tune Press and also a Vendor at Long's Drugs where he supplies leading edge books on alternative approaches to mental health and addiction issues. Over his career he has presented on various mental health topics in Germany, Canada and the United States. He is a member of NASW and International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS).
